Seeds of Joy Semillas de Alegría

Seeds of Joy is a celebration of collective care, imagination, and shared responsibility. Inspired by our own community garden, the project invites audiences into a living, breathing ecosystem where everyone belongs. This is not our garden alone it is a shared space that reminds us that what we tend together can grow stronger, healthier, and more joyful.

The garden becomes a metaphor for community. Our artists and students embody its elements, each playing a vital role in sustaining life. A live brass band (Chunky Hustle Brass Band) moves through the space like fungi characters that represent the invisible networks that connect us, reminding us that joy spreads underground before it blooms above.

Each act is an intentional planting. Through circus, music, and playful interaction, we offer small moments of joy as seeds placed gently in the hearts of the audience. These seeds are not performances to be consumed, but gifts to be carried, nurtured, grown, and even pass along.

Seeds of Joy offers a message of hope without division. It is about togetherness. By rooting the experience in nature and shared stewardship, the work speaks across generations, cultures, and beliefs. It emphasizes unity over polarization and collaboration over isolation. The garden reminds us that caring for our land and caring for one another are inseparable acts.

At the heart of it all is the idea of joy as medicine. Joy is not something we wait for or search for elsewhere, but a tool, a seed, already within us one that can be activated through play, presence, and connection. In times of uncertainty, choosing joy becomes an act of care, resilience, and collective healing.
